today in english we watched a skary movie and it was good but it wasnt skary it was actually kind of funny. one of the reasons it was funny is because the killer keep on calling and he would say the same thing every time in a wired voice. i do like watching movies though. i also like the chapter we are in because we watch and read all day. we dont just do that but we read good and interesting book and watch good movies

Last tuesday in english we finished watching a movie (The Great Debaters). I think Mr. Potter is a Michigan fan and Im laughing about that because Im watching them get beat by The Ohio State. Its been 2562 days since Michigan has beaten The Ohio State. Im just jokeing though because Michigan is playing a good game but they really need a better kicker.
1."Night John" is a book whos setting is during the time of slavery. John is the main character and throughout the book he is secretly trying to read, because its against Mr. Waller's rules. In a way John learning how to read is hope for him to keep on living and to not give up on life. Sarney is the girl who is trying to teach john and she thinks John is special and might be big one day. There is alot of attacks and violence against the slaves in Night John. It talks about how when the slaves tried to excape they are killed and shown no mercy.
2.In "Mascot" it talks about Malcom X's early life. At the begining Malcom moves in with a new family. Malcom feels like he's more of a "mascot" than being equal to everyone else. Malcom seems to be very smart, even smarter than everyone else in his grade. Later he talks to his history teacher. Somewhere in the conversation Malcolm mentions that he wants to become a lawyer. The teacher laughts and says that it will never happen because he is an African American. Then his teacher suggests that he become a carpenter.
3. "The Great Debators" has a lot of simularity with "Night John" and "Mascot." In"The Great Debators" the debators are looked down upon at first for being African American, kind of like in "Mascot." When Malcolm is told not to be a lawyer but to be a carpenter because he of his race. There is also some violence against African Americans in "The Great Debators" when they see someone being burned alive. In "Night John," people are beat for no reason besides the color of their skin. There are also some differences in the "The Great Debators," "Night John," and "Mascot." One example is in"The Great Debators," the debators go to college and are on a debate team, and in "Night John," no one is going to college and they are all slaves. In "Mascot," Malcolm X is from Detroit and in"The Great Debators" the debators are from Texas.

today we watched a movie in class. I glad we are watching movies in all my classes because we dont do anything for 3 days. im also glad that thanksgiving weekend is comeing up and we dont have to do anything for like 5 days and i get to sleep in. im also really tired so im going to bed now.

On friday we read 12 angry men. I had to leave early because I felt sick. later I found out that I had a feaver of 103. What sucks more is I was sick 2 days before. So theres alot of catching up to do. Later I talked to nick that day. He told me about how he wasnt there for 7 days so far.

this week in english class we finished to kill a mocking bird. I think i did good on the test but im not sure. I found out something funny about nick and that he got suspended.hes suspended for 10 days. so next week is going to be quieter. I actually liked to kill a mocking bird but I thought I wouldnt.

In english class today we took a quiz. Then we drew some pictures of what we think boo radly looked like. My picture turned out real bad. I have never been good at drawing. actually I should not say that. When I was little I was good compared to everyone my age. Thats not saying much though because everyone couldnt even color in the lines.

english class
In enghlish class we started to learn about poetry. Normally I dont like poetry. I did not like the poetry we did in class. when I went home I told my mom about that we learned about poetry. I told her because she likes poetry and shes always reading it. She told me to read some of Edgar Allen Poe's poems. Later when I was board I read it and it was not that bad. It was about a old guy that had someone take care of him but later the guy that took care of him went crazy and killed him. It wasn't like any other poetry I have ever read
