Every Day Heros

Dear Reader,

Have you ever wondered what its like to be an everyday person and become a hero in the military? Well this post should inform you about it. The reason that I choose this theme is because anyone who risks their life to fight for their country is a hero to me. In the book “Platoon,” it shows you that a person can become a hero even when they are just doing what they feel is right. I hope you enjoy my hard work.

                                                                                                Sincerely,
                                                                                                                Troy Ferron

Eulogy for Garder
This is one of the most difficult things that I have ever had to do. You can’t sum up someone’s life within a paper. I barely knew Garder but, we were closer than a lot of people. Garder was a husband, a son, and a friend to many. Garder will be more of a hero than anyone of us. He died doing what he believed was right. I wish he could have been with us longer. Even when things where bad, he was always smiling. I’m going to miss him.

"A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is braver five minutes longer."-Ralf Waldo Emerson

"The ordinary man is involved in action, the hero acts. An immense difference."-Henry Miller

"The real hero is the man who fights even though he is scared."-Geroge Patton

Dear Diary,

Today I didn’t get any sleep. I haven’t sleep for 2 days but it seems like 4, and guess what, I’m on patrol tonight. We were attacked today, luckily we were prepared though. My feet hurt so I talked to the doc. He said I have trench foot and some infected blisters but there was nothing he could do. Not much else exciting happed but we killed a monkey, grilled and ate it for dinner

"Unhappy the land that is in need of heroes."-Bertolt Brecht

The first genre I did was a Eulogy for Garder. I did it because Garder and Chris became close at the beginning, then Garder was killed in an ambush. Then for my second genre I did a postcard from Chris to his family. I did this one because it shows how much he misses his family and wants to go home away from the war. For my third genre I did a wanted poster because some American soldiers killed and raped some innocent civilians. For my last genre I did a day in the life of Chris. The reason that I did this one out of all of my choices is because it shows how miserable Chris is and how hard he has to work just to survive. Thanks for reading!

my greatest achievement

im not sure what my greatest achievement is.it could be when i graduated moddle school or when i hiked for a week and went over 70 miles and went over 1200ft of elevation. when i hiked for a week i had to carry everything in a backpack. the backpack weighed over 75 pounds. on the first day i walked about 15 miles. it wasn't so bad but i could feel it the next day. when we got to the cabin we calculated that we where going about 2 and 1/2 miles per hour. then the next day was worst. we had to gain alot of elevation in one big hill. it seemed like it would never end. once we got to the top there was a huge view. it was on of the best things i've ever seen.

This Summer I Moved to Hawaii

It was 2010 and Troy was late for school again. On the way to school he was trying to think of an excuse that he hasn't already said. When he got to school he joke fully said "There’s a zombie invasion." The teacher replied "I know." This made Troy think he got away with it, but then got him worried. Troy then asked "Really." The teacher then said "No now go and get a pass." Troy went and got a pass came back and the teacher reminded him that he has a detention as usual. Troy then walked to desk and fell asleep till he heard a bell. He did his usual and talked till there was 1 minute left then went to class. Today he was excited because it was a Friday and he was going to ask his friends to go a party. The party was at his brother’s next-door neighbor’s house Tony and Jacks house. Troy wasn’t worried that the party was so close to his brother Sean’s home because his brother Sean wasn’t supposed to be home because Troy’s mom, dad, brother Tim, brother Sean, and sister-in-law Anna where going to Cleveland to visit Troy’s family. Troy asked Nick “Hey do you want to go to a party, there’s going to be a lot of Mountain Dew.” Nick said “when and where is it.” Troy gave him the details. Then Troy talked to Joe. Troy said “Joe, since I know you’re not doing anything tonight why don’t you come to a party.” Joe said “Ok Troy I’ll do anything for you and I’ll even bring over 20 bucks.” Troy said “Make it 40.” “Ok.”Joe said. Troy then finished school then served his detention and got ready for the party. When he was getting he turned on the T.V. Troy looked at oddly because it was on a news station, but then he listened to it the news reporter said “There’s a new flue going around and you get it from being bitten. Troy said “Why are people biting each other.” He then ignored it and changed the channel. Troy called Nick because he was supposed to pick him up. Troy said “Where are you?” Nick said “Why does it matter” Troy replied “Because where late” “Calm down” said Nick “I’m almost there.” Nick picked him up and took him there, but something was wrong, Troy’s family was at Sean’s house. Troy said “O crap we have to turn around” “No” said Nick “I’ve wasted this much gas getting here, where staying.” “OK, I just have to stay low tonight.” Troy said. Later, Troy was on a caffeine high from all of the Mountain Dews he drank. His family saw him and Troy got grounded again. After the party ended Troy’s family, Tony and Jack, Nick, and Joe were all at Sean’s house. They turned on the T.V. and all of the channels were the same channel. It was because of an outbreak of a virus that turned people into zombies. Troy said “Everyone go home grab only your prized possessions and meet me back at Menards.” Menards was a huge store with anything you could ask for. Then after everyone listened to Troy’s directions, they were stuck at Menards. After living there for a while no one died excepted for Joe. He went crazy and ran naked in to a crowd full of zombies. One day Troy woke up and heard what sounded like a bus. It turned out to be one and it was full of people. Troy let the people in and said “What do you want?” The person who seemed to be there leader said “We will trade this store for a plane with enough gas to get to Japan.” Troy said “What’s in it for us” the leader said you can take as much as you can fit in the plane, the rest stays here.” “Sounds like a fair trade but how are we going to get us and the supplies to the plane.” The leader replied “We will take you on our three busses.” Luckily Troy’s dad is a pilot and they decided to fly to Hawaii  and kill all of the zombies there but, when they got to Hawaii, There was no zombies.
